I’ve learned that changing direction doesn’t mean starting over. Every experience has given me something valuable to build on, and in real estate, I’ve put it all together into work centered around building relationships, solving problems, and helping people.

I've always wanted to build something of my own. For years, I thought that meant opening a restaurant or a bar, so I spent years learning the business from the ground up, serving, bartending, eventually managing restaurants. When COVID shut the industry down, I had to rethink what my future looked like. That's what led me to real estate.
Before that, I'd also spent time in home remodeling and commercial construction. Those jobs taught me how to problem-solve and understand how a house is actually built. During COVID, a friend and former coworker who'd just gotten her real estate license explained what the job really involved. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I was comfortable working with people, I understood construction, and I liked the idea of finally building my own business.
I got licensed in 2021, and the beginning was a real trial by fire. The Boise market was moving faster than almost anywhere in the country. Homes were getting multiple offers within hours, buyers were going up against cash offers and waived inspections, and everything was over asking. I had to learn fast how to negotiate, how to understand every piece of a transaction, and how to find solutions when there wasn't an obvious one.
Working as a new agent in one of the most competitive markets in history actually worked to my benefit. It shaped me into a more prepared, proactive, and persistent agent. I like taking a complicated situation, figuring out exactly what we're dealing with, and building a clear plan to get through it. I also enjoy the education piece. I want my clients to understand every step, feel confident in every decision, and know the why and how behind everything we're doing. That approach is what's helped me grow my business. Since 2022, I've doubled my production every year and earned a spot in the Boise Regional REALTORS® Circle of Excellence for sales production.
Real estate has had a huge impact on my life. Because of the trust my clients have placed in me, my wife, Macyn, has been able to stay home with our kids since our second child was born. It's been incredible giving Avery and Greyson the kind of upbringing we always dreamed of, with a parent always there for them. It's also given me the flexibility to be present in ways I couldn't have been in the restaurant industry, while still running my own business.
One of the most important things real estate has done for me is give me a clear sense of purpose in helping people through pivotal decisions. That became especially apparent in 2025, when I lost my dad and my younger brother within a month of each other. I stepped away from work for a couple of months to grieve. My dad was hardworking and direct. His philosophy was that when life knocks you down, you get up, figure out what needs to happen next, and keep going.
When I came back to work, putting my energy into helping other people gave me a renewed sense of purpose. Focusing on helping other people got me back into the swing of things and reminded me why I love this job so much. I want to see my clients succeed, and I’m grateful that I get to play a part in making that happen.
My free time centers around family time. When I get the chance, I love fishing, camping, and being outdoors whenever I can. I grew up in the Treasure Valley and love Boise and the greater area. It’s a lifestyle and culture you just can’t beat. Helping people enjoy it just as I have for years makes the work all the more rewarding.
Buying or selling a home is a major decision, and you deserve more than someone who simply manages the transaction. My role is to help you understand your options, anticipate challenges, and make decisions with confidence.
I start by understanding what matters to you and what you want to accomplish. From there, I’ll help you evaluate the opportunities in front of you, explain the details that matter, and build a strategy around your goals. When challenges come up, I’ll work through them with you, look for solutions, and keep the transaction moving forward.
You’ll always know where things stand, what needs to happen next, and why. I’ll give you straightforward advice, advocate for your interests, and tell you the truth when I believe there’s a better path.
Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a property, relocating, or planning your next move, my goal is to make sure you have the knowledge, strategy, and representation you need to make a decision you feel good about.
Sincerely,
Kyle Smith
